When Brooklyn Game Knight (BKGK) opened its doors, the premier tabletop gaming lounge knew that increasing customer retention and fostering brand loyalty were mission-critical for business growth.
In support of those goals, I:
Rewrote their website copy to create a consistent, engaging and personality-driven brand voice
Developed an email marketing program that leveraged the brand voice to get subscribers excited to come into the store for events and activities
Success! The newsletter program averages an open rate of 53% with a 2% click-through rate. Customers routinely praise the newsletter to BKGK owners Frank and Sarah—evidence that the program is keeping BKGK top-of-mind and growing an engaged fan base.
But more importantly? BKGK regularly sells out in-store Magic The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons events—proving that the newsletter is effectively increasing foot traffic to the store.
